Preamble
PostgreSQL upper function converts all characters in the specified string to upper case.
Syntax of the upper function in PostgreSQL
upper( string )
Parameters and function arguments
- string – String to convert to uppercase.
Note:
- If a string contains characters that are not literals, the upper function does not affect them.
The upper function can be used in the following versions of PostgreSQL
PostgreSQL 11, PostgreSQL 10, PostgreSQL 9.6, PostgreSQL 9.5, PostgreSQL 9.4, PostgreSQL 9.3, PostgreSQL 9.2, PostgreSQL 9.1, PostgreSQL 9.0, PostgreSQL 8.4.

SELECT upper('Google.com');
--Result: GOOGLE.COM
SELECT upper('Google.com is #1');
