Oracle/PLSQL syntax of the POWER function
POWER( m, n )
Parameters or arguments
- m – is the base.
- n – is an indicator.
- The POWER function returns a numeric value.
- If m is negative, then n must be an integer.
The POWER function can be used in the following versions of Oracle/PLSQL
Oracle 12c, Oracle 11g, Oracle 10g, Oracle 9i, Oracle 8i

SELECT POWER(3, 2) FROM DUAL;
--Result: 9
SELECT POWER(5, 3) FROM DUAL;
--Result: 125
SELECT POWER(-5, 3) FROM DUAL;
--Result: -125
SELECT POWER(6.2, 3) FROM DUAL;
--Result: 238,328
SELECT POWER(6.2, 3.5) FROM DUAL;
--Result: 593.4319342778
